Top Ten Tips to Save Energy

by admin

Since 1925, Florida Power & Light (or FPL) has been helping Florida homeowners conserve energy, save cash and benefit the environment. Even though you're moving into Fort Lauderdale's premiere eco-friendly apartment rental community when you rent an apartment at Satori, there are still even more tips and tricks you can apply to help you reduce your bills and feel good about doing good for the planet. FPL suggests:

1) Cool your home at 78̊ or warmer. (82̊ or warmer is ideal for when you're not at home.)

2) Heat your home at 68̊ or cooler. (You can use the "auto" control feature on the thermostat. Another trick is to keep it at 65̊ or cooler when you're away or sleeping.)

3) Install a programmable thermostat. (Done! One comes in every apartment to help you conserve AC when you're out of the apartment.)

4) Clean or replace your air conditioner's filter every month. (If you ever need help, don't hesitate to call our on-site team of maintenance professionals.)

5) Turn off your ceiling fan when you leave the room. (Not only does Satori already come with programmable thermostats in every apartment unit, but thoughtful insulation techniques keep rooms cool without requiring excess air for leakage. Your rooms will always be perfectly conditioned, without waste.)

6) Avoid pre-rinsing dishes before they go in the dishwasher. (Satori rental apartment appliances are already the top-of-the-line for energy conservation, but they're also brand new and high performance machines, so you can drop most dishes right into the washer without pre-emptive cleaning duties. Who likes dish-wash prune hands anyway?)

7) Limit the time you run your pool pump. (No worries there; Satori has consulted with experts in the field to bring you the most eco-conscious non-chemical energy-efficient pool possible. So relax in a cabana by the pool at Satori and don't feel a shred of guilt.)

8) Adjust the water level on your washing machine (less water is wasted when you use less water for a smaller load). And always use cold rinse...it won't harm your clothes, and detergents like Tide Cold Water are made specifically to help you cut down costs.

9) Clean the lint filter in your dryer. (Your clothes will dry faster, so your chores will end sooner!) Checking on them as they go will also help you determine the soonest you can turn your dryer off. Or you can...

10) Use the auto-sensor button on your dryer. (At Satori, you're already a leg up with GE energy-efficient front-loading washer and dryers waiting when you move in!)

We know we've already hooked you up with the best economic and eco-friendly amenities possible, so you can move in to your new Ft. Lauderdale apartment with confidence. You're going to live an environmentally conscious lifestyle-while saving on your monthly bills. But Satori also supports sharing helpful hints and eco-friendly news with our neighbors, friends and family, so that the greater community benefits from energy conservation techniques. These tips are just so easy to do on a daily basis, we urge you to pass on this list to others and help us make the planet stronger day by day. We strongly believe we're not just self-satisfied environmentalists-Satori residents are role models for the community at large.
